Light lettering
2D and 3D versions · PVC finishLight lettering is made to order and starts with the wording you supply. We produce lettering on its own, lettering combined with graphics in a single structure, lettering set within a frame and lettering set within an arch. Letters can be flat or three-dimensional, and their faces are filled with PVC needles, PVC mesh or PVC board. The scale is matched to the specific installation site. Send us the wording and tell us where it will stand, and we will come back with a design, visualisation and quotation.

Flat and three-dimensional letters
Flat letters are the 2D version: designed to be viewed from one main direction, so they work well against a wall or anywhere people see the lettering from one side only. Three-dimensional letters are the 3D version — they have sides and depth, so the shape still reads properly when you walk right around the structure.
Both variants in this group are built as freestanding structures. Smaller flat lettering for façades or figures is a separate product, made to fit a specific spot and usually up to about 6–7 m wide.
How the letters light and what fills them
A letter can be lit around its edge with LED rope light, so only the outline of the character shows, or filled across its face so the whole letter reads as a bright surface. We do not do backlighting that throws a glow onto the wall behind the letter.
The inside of each letter is filled in one of three ways: PVC needles block the gap completely, PVC mesh lets some light through, and PVC board is used mainly for year-round lettering. The finish also changes how the lettering looks in daylight.
Wording, typeface and length of the lettering
We can reproduce any typeface you specify, including Polish diacritics, characters from other alphabets, or lettering entirely in another language. We also produce city crests and institutional logos.
Each letter is usually a separate element, so the overall length depends on how many letters there are and how far apart they stand — the letters can also be set out individually. The wording cannot be changed without new production: the interchangeable panel we describe under light cards does not work here, because new text means new elements have to be made.
Where lettering can go, and how to start an order
Lettering does not have to stand on its own — it can form part of a larger project, alongside an arch and pole decorations, and we also install it indoors.
To prepare a quote we need the wording, any graphic files and details of the installation site — photographs or measurements. From these we prepare a design and visualisation; each piece of lettering is built from scratch, so it is worth enquiring earlier than you would for a decoration from the catalogue.

Frequently asked questions
What sizes do the letters in light lettering come in?
Letters are typically around 1–1.8 m tall, with the remaining dimensions scaled in proportion. Larger 3D lettering is usually around 0.4 m deep, while smaller structures are shallower accordingly.
Does freestanding light lettering need anchoring or weighting down?
Sometimes, yes: lettering may need anchoring or additional ballast, though not on every project. Larger pieces are usually more stable on their own. The exact method depends on the size of the lettering, how it is built and where it will stand.
Can we order lettering smaller than the standard sizes?
Yes. Small lettering is not a standard product for us, but we do make it — produced to order in exactly the same way as pieces at more typical scales. The size is set to suit your requirements and the installation conditions, and we do not set a minimum order value or size, so a small sign is never ruled out simply because it is small.
Does the lettering have moving parts, and which light colours can I choose?
Light lettering has no moving parts — the letters and graphics stay static. You can, however, choose the light colour: warm, cool or a mix of the two. That choice is not specific to light lettering; it applies across our whole range.
What happens to the lettering after the season?
The structure comes back in following years — light lettering is designed to withstand repeated installation and removal. It does come back with the same wording, though: changing the text means producing new elements. Lettering with custom wording is a purchase rather than a rental, because personalised elements are not available for rent, so it stays the customer’s property between seasons as well.
How long does made-to-order lettering take?
About 2–3 weeks from approval of the design. Before that we prepare the design itself with a visualisation — we usually show what the lettering will look like before quoting, so the form is clear before any price is given. Lettering with a PVC panel takes longer, so it is worth getting in touch earlier in these cases.
Do the decorations need to be switched on manually?
No — they do not need to be switched on manually. On request, we fit a timer switch that turns the illuminations on and off at set times. Simply mention this in your enquiry, ideally with the hours during which the decorations should be lit.
How are the decorations built to withstand outdoor conditions?
The structures are built for outdoor use and designed to last for many seasons. On large batch orders, structural calculations for an individual item are carried out by an external engineering consultancy.
What happens if a decoration stops working during the season?
Our maintenance team takes the fault on: minor repairs are carried out on site, while larger faults mean the decoration comes back to our workshop. With your report, please include a photo of the damage or the symptom, the name and code of the decoration, and a short description — whether it does not light up at all, lights up only partially, or works erratically. Give us the location as well if we are to collect the decoration from the installation site.
