Design and visualisation
Before anything is made, we show the decoration on a photograph of the site or in a render — visualisation is free of charge.
Introduction
What we produce before you order
Conversations about illuminations usually start with the place rather than the decorations: a square, a street or a shopping-centre concourse, and a date by which everything has to be ready. We answer with an image — the decorations superimposed on a photograph of the site, a 3D render or a drawing. Where there is more than one sensible approach, we prepare several options.
We start with whatever material is available: photographs of the site, dimensions, plans and details of the building or structure. In most cases the client already holds these and passes them on. Where they are missing, we come out and survey the site ourselves, at no charge.
We do not charge for preparing a visualisation. It is not a separate line on the quotation: it is the first step towards a project, not a service sold on its own. There is one limit to this. Where visualisations are requested repeatedly and none of them leads to a project, we agree the scope of any further work individually. We do not keep a running total — what counts is the working relationship and a sensible scope of work.
The design is settled through discussion: we present a version, gather comments and revise it. There is no fixed limit on revisions — the scope depends on what still needs to be resolved. How long the design itself takes depends on the size of the order, the complexity of the project, how complete the materials are and our current workload, but it is usually between a day and a week.
One point is worth settling at the outset: the design and visualisation remain the property of CR Iluminacje, and are not intended to be passed to another manufacturer for production. For the buyer this means continuity — the same design can be ordered from us again in later seasons. Any other use of the design is agreed individually. Once the design is approved, it goes to quotation and production, with no minimum order quantity, even for a single piece.

Site, dates and materials
To begin, we need a description of the site, the display dates and either photographs or measurements. Clients usually have this information to hand; if not, we arrange a site visit and take the measurements ourselves.

How we present the design
We choose the format to suit what needs to be shown: a decoration overlaid on a photograph, a 3D render or a drawing. Depending on the project, we prepare a single proposal or several options side by side.

Feedback and revisions
We send the design for review and make the changes your comments call for. The number of rounds is not fixed in advance, but each further round follows from a specific comment; once there are no more comments, the scope of the project is settled.

Approved design
The approved concept forms the basis for the quotation and the production schedule, and guides the remaining stages of the season. From this point on, the discussion moves away from how it looks and on to dates and scope.

Who starts with a visualisation
A visualisation is the starting point for anyone planning an illumination from scratch who wants to see the result before placing an order. Most often these are local authorities preparing a display for a square, a street or a park, shopping centres putting together an arrangement for the season, owners of commercial properties, estate managers and institutions responsible for public spaces. The finished image can then be passed on to whoever signs off the order on the client’s side. It makes the greatest difference where the setting is unusual, or where several elements have to work together as one whole. We prepare designs for decorations that we then make ourselves.
What to send us so we can start the design
Tell us where the illumination is to stand and when it is needed, and send photographs of the site or its dimensions. We will come back with a visualisation and a proposed scope of work, prepared at no cost to you.
