Decorations with a seat appear in two forms under Freestanding figures. In Baubles and gifts, the seat is added to a finished shape — a sphere or a crate stays what it is and simply happens to offer somewhere to sit. Here it works the other way round: the seat comes first and determines the shape, rather than being added to a form that already exists. The seat has to be usable, so pieces in this design range are built with real depth, and what carries from a distance sits above the seat rather than in it.

Seating for one or for several

The design names divide this range into two options: a bench seats several people at once, while an armchair or throne is a single seat. The motif is a separate decision — some are fairytale, some geometric — because the choice here starts with how people are meant to sit, and only then with what the structure depicts.
