That is why the motifs are so varied — characters, animals, trees and elves, alongside a cottage, a car or an alarm clock that belong to no design range of their own within the group. What should the decoration show, and how much space can it take up? Those two answers are enough for us to suggest designs and prepare a quotation.

Every other subcategory within Freestanding figures is grouped around a subject: an animal, an Easter egg, a fountain, an arch, a bench, a tree. This one is not — what these designs share is how they are made, and almost all of them are flat. The result is a mix of motifs with nothing in common apart from their construction.
Where to start
Nearly half the designs here also sit in a design range of their own: the reindeer, cat and peacock appear under Animals, and the flat human silhouettes under Characters. The rest have nowhere else to appear: the cottage, the car, the alarm clock and the children with a snowman do not form separate design ranges within this group. So it is worth looking through this category even if you began from a theme, because a number of designs are not listed anywhere else.
